RESTLESS Health Entrepreneurship Bootcamp and Hackathon in Cyprus Mark Major Project Milestone
A significant milestone for the RESTLESS project was reached in Cyprus with the successful implementation of the Health Entrepreneurship Bootcamp and Hackathon, bringing together talented university students from multiple disciplines to develop innovative HealthTech solutions.
The event formed a core part of the RESTLESS mission to empower students and graduates with entrepreneurial, digital and green skills tailored to the evolving needs of the health sector.
Multidisciplinary Innovation in Action
Students specialising in Medicine, Life Sciences, Business, Engineering and ICT collaborated intensively during the bootcamp, transforming early-stage ideas into structured, market-oriented HealthTech concepts.
Through guided mentoring, practical workshops and collaborative sessions, participants refined their solutions while gaining hands-on experience in:
- Health innovation and business modelling
- Digital transformation in healthcare
- Sustainable and scalable solution design
- Pitch development and validation
The hackathon element added a competitive dimension, encouraging teams to think strategically, test their assumptions and prepare for the next stage of the RESTLESS innovation journey.
From Bootcamp to Final Competition
The Bootcamp and Hackathon served as a qualifying stage for the RESTLESS Final Competition, where selected teams will present their solutions on a larger European stage.
The event demonstrated the value of combining higher education with industry-relevant training to reduce the skills mismatch in the health sector. It also highlighted the growing appetite among students to engage with entrepreneurship as a pathway into healthcare innovation.
Strengthening Europe’s HealthTech Ecosystem
The Cyprus Bootcamp showcased how cross-border collaboration between Higher Education Institutions and Small and Medium Enterprises can create meaningful opportunities for young innovators.
By equipping participants with practical entrepreneurial competences and exposure to real market challenges, RESTLESS continues to contribute to the development of a resilient and innovation-driven European HealthTech ecosystem.
As the project moves forward, all eyes now turn to the upcoming RESTLESS Final Competition.
